Fighting accent discrimination and promoting tolerance towards accent variation is a community enterprise. We will succeed as long as awareness of the mechanisms governing people’s reactions to accents will be shared and greater appreciation of accent variation will be reached as widely as possible.
If you share the views and objectives of CIRCE, there are several ways you can get involved:
If you are a teacher in a secondary school and share CIRCE’s commitment to fostering a more tolerant environment toward linguistic diversity and variation in accents, you can request that your school become a “friend of CIRCE”.
If you are a professional in any field that intersects language teaching, multilingualism in schools, sociolinguistics or educational policy, you can volunteer as an Advisor.
If you represent a project, an organization or an initiative that goes hand-in-hand with the aims and objectives of CIRCE, you can propose it to become one of our Twin Initiatives.
