CIRCE Showcases New Materials from the University of Leeds’ “All Accents Welcome” Campaign

CIRCE is pleased to highlight new resources produced as part of the University of Leeds’ All Accents Welcome campaign, which promotes linguistic diversity and challenges accent bias in higher education.

The campaign’s main video, All Accents Welcome, celebrates the richness of spoken language and calls for more inclusive communication practices. The Higher Education Policy Institute (HEPI) has also published a blog marking the campaign launch, outlining how tackling accent bias can enhance students’ sense of belonging, wellbeing, and academic success.

Adding a personal perspective, Masud Khokhar, Chief Digital and Information Officer at the University of Leeds, shares his experience in the blog Keeping my accent, finding my leadership, reflecting on authenticity and leadership identity. A shorter version of the campaign video has also been shared via LinkedIn to broaden engagement across the sector.

These initiatives support the broader mission of CIRCE to foster equitable and culturally aware communication in higher education, and we invite our community to explore and share the materials.
